Big Dave, old and decrepit as he may be, has discovered
Quake, the coolest game in the known universe. Actually,
its the multiplayer mode of the game that Big Dave likes
the best. In this mode, a bunch of people (with colorful
names) all play at once over the internet on a Quake
server. Quake, in case you don't know, is a realistic, 3D, violent, gore-filled, live action run-and-jump shoot-em-up game. The goal, generally, is to destroy ("frag") as many other players as you can. They are trying to do the same thing. Hence, the basic conflict. There are also team play versions for the cooperative. If you want to know more about the world of Quake, visit Id Software. You'll be amazed at what you find! By the way, that's a picture of me up above in my Quake gear. I play under the name of Yogi. If you see me out there, be kind. Use your ax rather than rockets. Update 2000: Big Dave continues to play Quake, now v3, but not so much the online multiplayer game. Too much stress, too old. <sigh> |
